Welcome to the third episode of the second season of my podcast, Empower Your Magical Self. My hope is that makes you think about familiar ideas in a whole different light. My guest today is writer and filmmaker Bob Peck who joins me for a discussion about his book, Original Sin is a Lie, Krishna, and our shared love of Ram Dass, among other topics.  I recently read a novel called Lilith. The author, Nikki Marmery, does a magnificent job of building on the bits of myths that come to us about Lilith, Adam's legendary, rebellious first wife. I plan to write about the book soon, but for our purposes here, I'll just say that Marmery's Lilith is an immortal who spends her post-Edenic life hanging around what today we (in the West) call "the holy land". As such, she spent years with the Biblical Queen Jezebel and later with Mary Magdalene, after the death of Jesus.  In the novel, Mary Magdalene has one burning purpose: to get the true message that she and Jesus were spreading out to the world before her death. And that message is quite different than the one that's come to us through the Bible.  And that discrepancy between the Gospels we know today and the teachings of the actual Jesus is where my guest, Bob Peck, and I start our discussion on today's episode (#3) of the second season of my podcast, Empower Your Magical Self.  I discovered Bob on social media a couple of years ago, and was immediately charmed by his authenticity as well as his message. I'm quite a bit older than Bob, but we have a lot in common, beginning with our shared hometown of Austin, Texas.
