For the misfits who wore their hearts on their sleeves and their headphones in their ears—our scars are a part of us, and our stories are worth sharing. Here, we embrace the angst, the nostalgia, and the soundtracks that shaped us. We're not just the kids who grew up on emo and pop-punk; we're the adults who carry that music in our souls, still finding meaning in every riff and lyric. This is a space for healing, laughing, remembering, and redefining what it means to grow up while never letting go of the music that helped us survive. Welcome to Emo Kids Anonymous Podcast

68. Low Phase: 90's Rock, Emo Adjacency and The Power of Friendship | Emo Kids Anonymous

In this conversation with Michigan Indie Rock band Low Phase, we dive DEEP AF. To start with we are joined by Caleb and John and the two of them discuss their journey from childhood friends to bandmates, their musical influences, and the recording process of their recent EP. They share insights into the Michigan music scene and their aspirations for the future, emphasizing the importance of genuine connections with their audience but more importantly, maintaining their friendship. We talk about cooking up fake beefs with other bands, as well as some of Caleb's questionable behavioral patterns. Caleb and Robb bond over their time spent at fake music school and how it impacts songwriting before we are joined by the third and final member of Low Phase, Miles! Miles was a cool guy and it turns out his dad was actually the bassist for The Verve Pipe for a hot minute! The band emphasizes the importance of healthy communication and their aspirations for the future, including dream collaborations and touring plans. The Low Phase fellas also touch on the challenges of social media and the humorous side of being in a band. Seriously though, who eats a bell pepper like that!?!?!?
