Task Of The Day: Trademark Your Artist Name
After you've checked to see if your name is being used on Spotify or Apple music, if it is we can still maybe use the name as long as it's not been trademarked. Let's make sure we're not using a name that's already been trademarked before moving forward.
1) Go to https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks-application-process/search-trademark-database 2) Scroll down and click on Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) 3) Click on Basic Work Mark Search 4) Make sure the settings are on "Plural and Singular" and "Live and Dead," type in the band name and hit enter
5) Check to see that any trademarks registered to the band name you're looking for doesn't fall into a music category (can have trademarks on the same name for other industries i.e. a clothing company)
Inspiration: Chasing an idea to it's full conclusion may mean that you end up down a road that you do not wish to travel. The moment you realize the destination will never feel like home... Change your mind. Regardless of who you've told or the progress you've made, this was a bad idea, so change your mind.
