Then we focus on the current events in the war-torn Ukraine and the fate of the anti-authoritarian and left-wing forces participating in fending off the Russian invasion. We also talk about the colonial mindset of large parts of the "Western Left" when it comes to taking stance on Ukraine and Russia as well as number of other issues. In the third part of our mini-series called "Liberation Theologies" we talk to rabbis, authors and organisers Ariana Katz and Jessica Rosenberg. Although the idea od liberation lies at the very core of Judaism, the question about the possible meanings of the Jewish liberation theology is a very complex one. Ariana and Jessica take us through their reflections on the subject. We also discuss their magnificent book "For Times Such as These: A Radical's Gudie to the Jewish Year" (Wayne University Press, 2024) in which they propose a certain interpretation of Jewish spiritual practice, empathy and community-building and connect it to numerous contemporary struggles: anti-racist, ecological, feminist and gender-related, anti-colonial an anti-Zionist while not falling into the trap of ideological superficiality.
