February 2014 saw Rob Kinetic (of Z-Listers fame) and Stu N taking their electro-tech house show ‘Electrofied’ into its eighth year.
Originally a weekly two hour live show on Brighton’s now legendary Brap.FM the pair gained a reputation for always filling the show with the freshest cuts which in the process made ‘Electrofied‘ very quickly become the stations most downloaded show!
Unfortunately production commitments (did we mention Rob was the other half of the Z-Listers? Oh yes, we did….) along with their perfectionist work ethic meant that the duo were unable to reach their desired benchmark with a weekly show. Now a monthly (ish!) podcast the show is enjoyed by listeners from all the four corners of the globe, with the playlist’s and downloads becoming essential reading/listening for anyone with a keen interest in the electro & tech house scene.
Thinking that the music in a podcast is always far more important than the relative Dj-ing and vocal ability of the host, ‘Electrofied’ has always been a seamless, progressive, building blend of tracks with very minimal talkover that enables the listener to enjoy the sounds just as the producer intended.
However this doesn’t mean that Rob and Stu are not able to hold a crowd, this talented duo have always remained close to their roots by playing at live events around the south coast. It was with the early sounds of UK rave and jungle that they cut their teeth playing out and as their popularity grew they were given residencies to bring their sound to a wider audience showcasing their talents to yet more clubbers and promoters. More recently they were the natural choice to launch Brap.Fm’s very own monthly night ‘Crunchtown‘, also the Z-Listers blew away the crowds at Beat Circus with a live DJ/keyboard set which was then repeated when both Stu & the Z-Listers played at the massive Strawberry Jamm afterparty to a capacity crowd.
