Line 1 radiates comfort and stability, the air fresh with most stations being on ground level. Since it served as the main train line from 1989 to 1996, it continues to evoke that conventionality today. One of the most prominent stations is El Shohadaa (previously Hosny Mubarak) that leads to Ramsis Square, home to Misr Station (محطة مصر) which connects Cairo to other cities/governorates. Covering El Marg to Helwan, it is rich and full of character and history having witnessed major historical events all while taking people where they need to go.

الخط الأول يعطي احساس بالراحة، هواءه منعش لوجود معظم المحطات على مستوى الأرض. نظرًا لأنه كان بمثابة الخط الرئيسي من عام 1989 إلى عام 1996 ،فإنه لا يزال يستحضر هذا التقليد اليوم. من أبرز المحطات هي محطة الشهداء (حسني مبارك سابقًا) التي تؤدي إلى ميدان رمسيس، وهو يوصل إلي محطة مصر التي تربط القاهرة بالمدن و المحافظات الأخرى. يغطي الخط من المرج إلى حلوان، غني ومليئ بالهوية المصرية والتاريخ حيث أنه شهد أحداثًا تاريخية وكان خلالها ينقل الناس إلى حيث يحتاجون.
