Los investigadores demuestran que las altas temperaturas suprimen la resistencia sistémica adquirida (RSA), un mecanismo de defensa de amplio espectro contra los patógenos. Esta supresión está directamente relacionada con la reducción en la biosíntesis del ácido N-hidroxipipécólico (NHP), una molécula de señalización clave de la RSA, en Arabidopsis y otras especies vegetales. El texto también explica que esta vulnerabilidad térmica está controlada por la regulación de los factores de transcripción CBP60g y SARD1, lo que abre nuevas posibilidades para el desarrollo de cultivos más resistentes al clima.
