There are people today who say they are believers but there is no effect in their life that a new birth has occurred. They are shallow professors but not possessors – not true believers. The church needs more true believers. 1 Peter 2:22 You can get cleaned up on the outside, but what’s on the inside reveals itself. People like what Christ offers, but are not willing to deny self and take up their cross. 1 John 2:19, says they were not really of us. People don’t like discipline or to be convicted, challenged with the truthfulness of the Word of God. Instead, they will go find a church that gives approval to their sinful actions. God makes it very clear in His word what is right. People like to be affirmed in their sin, not confronted. Not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord” will enter Heaven. Jesus said, “Depart from Me. I never knew you, who practice lawlessness.” Just because someone says or claims or is a member, it does not equate to salvation. The wages of sin is eternal death(hell). 1 Cor.6:9 – do you not know? The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. Do not be deceived. If the lifestyle is contrary to the Biblical standard, there is no rebirth. The person is not a true believer. John 3 tells us of the necessity of salvation. Hebrews 2,3,4 tells of the urgency of salvation. Does salvation effect the person? YES! In 2 Cor 5:17, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. The Greek word means to make or create something which has not existed before, the new birth is the handiwork of God Himself. As in Matthew 13, the seed which lands in the fertile soil will bear fruit. There will be evidence of salvation.
