Ep.2: The Dead Parent Olympics
Okay. If you’ve lost a parent or even just had a complicated relationship with one, this episode might hit you straight in the gut… but in like, a warm hug meets a gut-punch kind of way.
This episode is for all of us in the “Dead Dad’s Club” and the “Dead Mom’s Club” and especially for those of us who didn’t get a trophy for surviving the worst moments of our lives. Jessimae talks about the bizarre things that happen when your parents die-the competition, the weird flexes, the dark jokes that only make sense after your whole world falls apart.
She's sharing stories I’ve never told before… like the FaceTime goodbye that was anything but graceful, and the hospice goodbye that haunts her in the best and worst ways. It’s raw, it’s ridiculous, and yeah we even roast her dead parents because they’d expect nothing less!
This isn’t therapy, but it might feel like the grief support group you wish had wine and didn’t suck. You in?
