He was of the foremost person in the Scientific Revolution during the Renaissance. Although the world was moving forward, we knew the planetary motions, Martin Luther(Reformation, 1517 CE) had come to the fore - yet pockets of the European society still lived in the Dark Ages.

“कठघरे में स्वप्न” की शुरुआत होती है एक स्वप्न से जो इतिहास और मिथकों से गुथा हुआ है। स्वप्न के बाद सोलहवीं सदी के जर्मनी में रहने वाली कथरीना की कहानी शुरू होती है।
ये वो समय है, जब जर्मनी में भारी उथल पुथल मची हुई है, सुपरनेचुरल और साइंस आपने सामने खड़े हैं, एक तरफ़ सभ्यता रेनैसांस की और बढ़ रही है तो दूसरी तरफ़ औरतों को चुड़ैल घोषित कर उन्हें जलाया जा रहा है।
