Episode 2 - The Penelopiad
Maddie and Tim take a look at Margaret Atwood's "The Penelopiad", a play which both of them are very, very unfamiliar with. With a handful of millennia between today and when the Odyssey was first whispered, they discuss the questions and problems that come up when attempting to weave a new tale from a familiar story. (Speaking of weaving, peep the shitty editing Maddie did this time around - Suitors, eat your heart out.) Episode 1 - The Crucible
Maddie and Amanda delve into Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" in this inaugural episode. From the playwright's alleged Communist ties to the 2002 production featuring a future Disney princess, it's the Salem Witch Trials like you've never seen it. Maddie's certainly has never read it. (Note: Jed Harris, the director of the 1953 premiere of "The Crucible" was incorrectly identified as 'Jim Harris' in this episode. However, historical accounts also say that he was a bit of a jackass so y'know we're sorry but not that much.)
