The Project Blue Beam conspiracy theory was created and publicized by Canadian journalist and conspiracy theorist Serge Monast in the mid-1990s. He published a detailed account of the theory in his 1994 book Project Blue Beam (NASA).
Key claims of the Project Blue Beam theory
Monast alleged that Project Blue Beam was a covert operation by NASA, in collaboration with the United Nations, to achieve a totalitarian New World Order. According to his theory, the plan would unfold in four steps:
- Artificially created earthquakes would unearth new archaeological discoveries that discredit the world's major religions.
- A "space show" would use holographic technology to project images of religious figures and UFOs into the sky, tricking people into believing that a new world messiah had arrived.
- "Electronic telepathic communication"would be used for mind control, transmitting thoughts directly into people's brains.
- Staged supernatural events would create widespread chaos and despair, preparing the population to accept the installation of a new one-world government.
