Welcome to ”Dog Training Bytes” – the show where canine professionals share their key takeaways, big a-ha moments, and hardest lessons learned from working with dogs. Listen in as Mattison, certified dog trainer and behavior consultant, interviews dog trainers and other pet professionals about times that working with dogs… well, bit. Not literally (maybe literally). This podcast is all about sharing the lessons learned from experience. Because the stories of when it got tough, or when we made a mistake – that’s when we learn the lessons worth learning. And it’s time we share those with the world. What’s most important here on this show: what did they walk away with? What did they learn? How did it shape their approach today?

Welcome to ”Dog Training Bytes” – the show where canine professionals share their key takeaways, big a-ha moments, and hardest lessons learned from working with dogs.
On today’s episode, Mattison is speaking with Dominika Knossalla-Pado!
Dominika Knossalla-Pado is the founder of Dog Meets Baby and a certified dog trainer (CTC), having graduated with honors from The Academy for Dog Trainers in 2008. With over 15 years of experience working with dogs and their families, she has taught group classes, worked with celebrities, trained shelter dogs, and even substituted as a group dog walker. After becoming a mother, Dominika realized there was a significant gap in quality resources for parents navigating life with dogs and young children, which inspired her to create Dog Meets Baby.
Dog Meets Baby provides online courses to help expecting parents prepare their dogs for a baby’s arrival, as well as specialized classes for parents and caregivers of children aged 4 to 48 months. The company also offers private consultations and a wealth of free resources, including checklists, handouts, blogs, and a weekly newsletter. Their most popular free resource is the Dog Meets Baby Preparation Checklist, which has helped countless families smoothly introduce their dogs to a new baby.
Dominika’s expertise has earned her recognition across national media, podcasts, conferences, and written publications. She has been featured on Good Morning America and invited to speak at leading online conferences such as the Transforming Toddlerhood Conference and Your Puppy Blueprint Summit. Additionally, her insights have been shared on numerous podcasts, including HERself Podcast, Momwell, and The Dog Moms Podcast.
Through Dog Meets Baby, Dominika is committed to helping families foster safe, positive relationships between their dogs and young children, ensuring harmony and well-being for all.
