Max Bruce got his start spinning in the after hours and gay clubs of Toronto over 25 years ago. He opened for such legends as David Knapp, Susan Morabito and Barry Harris at many a Pride festival at that time.
In 1996, he moved to Los Angeles and began a new career in the animation industry. After DJing a couple of Burning Man group parties in 2014, he decided to pick up the headphones again. Since then, he has become a very busy man playing all over the continent. He has spun at the opening party of the Mid Atlantic Leather festival (D.C.), at various parties for the Folsom Street Fair (San Francisco), at the Tom of Finland Lot parties (Los Angeles), at Provincetown Bear Week and at the San Diego, Los Angeles and Seattle Pride festivals. Not to mention, he is a featured DJ for the ManUpp series of parties, spinning in Vancouver, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, New York, Toronto, Boston and Denver among others.
As "DJ 2.0", Max brings a great historical perspective to his sets, drawing upon the New York sound and the British rave scene of the early nineties. "House" is the word with "disco", "tech" and "deep" being the prefixes. He is particularly fond of remixing classics with tech beats creating a fun vibe of familiarity and innovation.
