Divorced People
Nicole M. Quallen & Natalie M. Christley

Why is divorce one of the remaining taboo topics in our increasingly outspoken culture? Why can’t we speak more openly about something that happens to half of our legal unions? Why do some couples divorce and some not? Can you predict if you are headed there? And why are we so damn judgey of divorced people? Let’s pull back the curtain and talk about it. Nicole Quallen, divorced person and divorce attorney, will be your host. Nicole has been asking all the questions about divorce since she went through her first one in 2009, and she’s just getting started. Nicole works as a collaborative divorce attorney in her practice, Two Families Law, where she has witnessed and cared for hundreds of families going through the big split. In this practice, Nicole and her team see unbelievable vulnerability, pain, tenderness, and, eventually, growth, and these magical experiences are so worthy of being shared more widely. Divorced People is an offering to the world of an insight into the important, intimate, delicate world of divorce and marriage. It’s a caring stage where transformed folks can share what they have learned and seen. It’s also an attempted thorn into the heart of divorce stigma and pre-judgment about who divorced people are. Join us to hear stories that are sometimes cheering, sometimes achey, and sometimes very ordinary. A reminder to us all that divorced people are, it turns out, mostly just people.

Nik + Nat Chat About the Kelly Sundberg Interview
If you enjoyed the Kelly Sundberg interview, take a listen to our debrief episode where Nicole and I discuss our favorite and most meaningful parts of her story. I read her Goodbye, Sweet Girl memoir and Nicole read her latest book that just came out a couple weeks ago, The Answer is in the Wound. We discuss both books and what stood out to us the most in each story. Her story is truly a story of healing and inspiration and we hope you all feel that too when you listen! Trigger Warning for all listeners, Kelly's story is one of Domestic Violence. She does discuss what that looked like for her and what ultimately happened for her to leave. I know this will be one of our top favorite episodes for both of us forever.
