Chris Schultz has been the Voodoo Doughnut CEO since 2017, after being in the restaurant industry for 30+ years (including roles as Operations Manager at Starbucks and Sr VP at Mod Pizza). He has been quoted to “never have a bad day,” and in his time at Voodoo, he’s focused on expanding Voodoo’s offerings to new locations throughout the US. Voodoo Doughnut started as a quirky donut shop in Portland in 2003 with the mission of “world donut domination” and received its first mention in the national press in the first week of opening. Since then, Voodoo Doughnut has been featured on The Travel Channel, The Cooking Channel, MTV, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Tonight Show, Wheel of Fortune, Portlandia, Grimm, Leverage, The Amazing Race and Access Hollywood, and in print publications such as People, Playboy, Conde Nast, Spin, GQ, Jane, Maxim, Food & Wine, and more. In this episode, we focus on: All the adventurous flavors his team has tried (Pepto-bismol donuts??) Leadership lessons & how important it is to take credit for your mistakes (Pepto-bismol donuts..?)
