Hosted by Ismail Hasan - Head coach and director of Aikido of London Ismail Hasan Sensei began his Aikido training in 1977 in London, England. In 1985 he moved to California to train with TK Chiba Sensei 8th Dan, a direct student of the founder of Aikido. As a full time student he received direct transmission from Chiba Sensei and eventually moved back to England. He is the owner of Aikido of London based and continues to coach in Aikido and Iaido. As well as teaching he owns Nolo Gallery online and writes.

Philipp Schiffer joins me from Cologne, Germany as we chat about the teacher student relationship in Aikido but also in academia. Philipp has been training in Aikido for 3 years and comes from a strong academic background as a PhD in Biology and has taught in UCL and Cologne.
