We are starting off strong this season with a real and raw coversation between Dr. Mohsin and Tarfia Faizullah about the reality of growing up and living in America while being a part of the Desi community - the bicultural identity so many people go experience.
Tarfia Faizullah, born in Brooklyn to Bangladeshi parents and raised in Texas, is the author of two poetry collections: Registers of Illuminated Villages (2018) and Seam (2014). Her work has been translated into Bengali, Chinese, Persian, and Tamil, appearing in major publications including Poetry, The New Republic, and The Nation, while she has presented at prestigious institutions like the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian. A Fulbright fellow and three-time Pushcart Prize winner, she was named a USA Artists Fellow in 2019.
