Georgina Riel is an Indigenous End-of-Life Doula who practices Ojibwe traditional rights of passage for community members who take their star journey. Whether it's smudging, naming or a ceremonial cedar bath Georgina believes in including community. She says that the hospital and funeral service workers are usually accommodating, but she is clear that there is still room for improvement when it comes to end-of-life from a systems level perspective.
