A Conversation with Writer/Director ZAK HILDITCH

This episode finds me in the esteem of another Curtin University alum. In 2012, his short film "Transmission" a tonal companion piece for "These Final Hours" was nominated for Best Film at the 2013 AACTA awards and won Best Screenplay.

In 2014 his debut feature These Final Hours [a self-described “movie about the bogan apocalypse] as stated in the Screen Australia Media release dated April 22 2014 had its International premiere at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes receiving a standing ovation after its screening.

And as noted in Cinefestoz.com, "To date he is the first and [still the] only Australian to solely write and direct two exclusively Netflix original films" namely, the 2017 film titled 1922 adapted from the Full Dark, No Stars collection of four novellas by Stephen King, and the follow up original film Rattlesnake released in 2019.

Please enjoy this entertaining discussion with Zak Hilditch.
