I think it's safe to say that the 1984 classic film Night of the Comet is a cult classic in some ways. It blends multiple genres like Sci-Fi, Horror and Comedy into the story of two girls who've survived Earth's apocalyptic journey through the tail of a comet. IMDB describes Night of the Comet thusly: "A comet wipes out most of life on Earth, leaving two Valley Girls fighting against cannibal zombies and a sinister group of scientists."
