This will be a daily posting of my trip through the Bible. I will be reading the NET aloud. Each day I will introduce the passage with a brief commentary. But mostly I will simply be reading the Word of God for you. I'd love to hear how God is using this podcast to help you or answer any questions you may have. You can contact me on twitter: @nemoyatpeace or email me at DevotedToScripture@gmail.com.

#358 Jude 1

Day 358 of the podcast, reading Jude 1 NET, read along at:
https://netbible.org/bible/Jude+1/

This is day 358 of our journey.

Today we focus in on the book of Jude.  Jude was one of Jesus' half-brothers (along with James), he was a leader in the early church and wrote this letter to Jewish Christians.  He writes to combat false teachers who were threatening the faith that was entrusted to God's holy people.  These men reject authority on the basis of "spiritual dreams".  But, they are not following the Spirit, rather they are following mere natural instincts.  Believers must resist such false teachings and cleanse their community by rejecting them.

Jude closes with a beautiful benediction giving all glory and majesty to the Savior that presents us spotless before the throne of God.

Join me in Jude 1 and reject false teachings as you worship the true Savior!

Key verses:

Jude 1:24-25
Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, without blemish before his glorious presence,  25 to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.

All Scriptures are from the NET.
