This is day 357 of our journey.
Today we will read two short letters from John. Second John is written to another church gathering, and has similar themes to First John, but in much briefer form. He gives them a warning to stay away from false teachers and to withhold support from them. At the same time he praises them for continuing to walk in the truth.
Third John is written to his friend, Gaius, as a note of thanks and encouragement. John had sent a letter to the church introducing some brothers in Christ to them, but one of the church leaders refused to accept these men and forbid anyone else from accepting them as well. Gaius, however, put them up in his own home, allowing them to complete their mission.
