A Biblical Perspective on Abortion
Back again after a lengthy hiatus. Jonathan and Alec discuss abortion and related topics. Jonathan shares his experience working for Pro Life organizations and advocating for the rights of the unborn. It's a bit heavier than usual. Listener discretion advised, but it's pretty tame. IDK, you tell me.

What We Say About The Church
Alec hosts solo again. Arguments against speaking ill of the church. The Church is both the body of Christ as well as local bodies of believers. Common attacks against the Church we hear nowadays tend to be both unfair and unhelpful. Here is a good 45ish minutes advocating for watching how we portray the Church to nonbelievers and evaluating it with a Biblical lens rather than a worldly one.

Too Much Application
The first solo episode of DFY. Alec talks about the Christian pitfall of emphasizing application of the Bible more than understanding it. A riveting monologue the likes of which Shakespeare wouldn't have dared to write.

Are Missions Culturally Destructive?
Stemming from a recent interaction Grant had with an old friend, this episode's discussion centers around the goal of missions and whether Christianity supersedes culture or converts everything to Western norms and ideals. Not to throw around the "R" word... but this episode gets pretty dang relevant.

Pride and Superiority
A discussion on the dangers and ease of falling into pride and judgementalism for Christians - especially in recent days. There is a lot that could be said about pride, and all the areas to which it pulls at us, and this is only one discussion of choice issues. We hope it sparks introspection into your life as it has for us. Let's be honest, we all kinda suck - further evidenced on this episode of Despised for Youth

Christians, "Christians", and Divisions in the Church
Pleasantly devoid of the "DoEs SiTtInG iN a GaRaGe MaKe YoU a CaR?" phrase, Alec and Grant talk about how Christians should be united as members of one family, how to deal with disagreements and divisions among them, and how to treat those who claim to be Christians but whose lives or confessed beliefs don't align with biblical orthodoxy. Despite using the word orthodoxy in this description, it was a pretty interesting discussion. This "week" on Despised For Youth.

Ep. 30 - Contentment or Contempntpment: Which Tent Are You In?
This one starts off a bit out there. But Alec and Grant eventually get down to it and talk about contentment as a spiritual virtue. Contentment is a Biblical idea that seems more and more difficult in modern day. This episode tries to give some ideas why that is and what to do about it.

Finding Comfort in Suffering
Suffering is a universal experience. We've all gone through it at various points in our lives, although often in very different ways. On this episode, Alec and Grant talk about what we should do during our suffering to help us find comfort from God and endure our hardships. They also talk about how you might comfort someone else who is suffering. Scripture is full of wisdom about suffering, but it's a little hard to read the Bible on your morning commute or at the gym, so Despised For Youth is here to help with an abridged guide to finding comfort in suffering.
