Our first three-peat! On this epi of our Remix series we brought back author, JoAnn Hill to tell us all about her third and latest book, “Unique Eats and Eateries of Washington, DC.” So, there’s definitely something to be said about the power of number 3.

Cocktail Recipe:
Well, Hello Basil
🌿 2 oz basil-infused gin* (or natural spirit of your liking)
🍋 1 cup fresh lemonade
🫧 3-4 oz seltzer water
🍋 2 lemon wheels
🌿 basil sugar** (for rimming)
In a shaker tin, add basil-infused gin and lemonade. Fill 3/4 with ice, top and shake vigorously until exterior of tin is frosty. Over fresh ice, strain into a basil sugar-rimmed Collins glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with lemon wheels.
*Basil-Infused Gin
🇬🇧 4 oz London dry gin
🌿 5 large basil leaves, torn
In an air-tight glass container, add gin and basil. Seal and allow to infuse 6-12 hours. Shake occasionally. ⏰Strain gin and squeeze the leaves to release any remaining liquid. Keep in an air-tight container.
**Basil sugar
🌿2 large basil leaves, torn
💙 .25 cup granulated sugar
In a small food processor, add sugar and basil. Pulse until basil is chopped into small, uniform pieces and sugar is pale green. Keep in an air-tight container.
