Shafaq Ali qualified from GKT in 2003. In 2020 she was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's which will cut her career short. Despite this, she remains extremely positive, giving her time to multiple charities including Parkinsons.org.uk
She is involved with the BDA benevolent fund, raising awareness for dentists finding themselves in financial difficulties.
Shafaq is also instrumental in the administration of the mental dental Facebook group, and the Confidental phone line. Both these resources are essential for the dental profession as we find stress and anxiety are now at epidemic levels.
