What Went Down at the Knight Media Forum? (With Elizabeth Green and S. Mitra Kalita)

Welcome to the Democracy Notes podcast! I'm your host, Gabe Lerner.

What went down at the 2024 Knight Media Forum in Miami? What does local news have to do with democracy? I sat down with Elizabeth Green and S. Mitra Kalita to discuss.

S. Mitra Kalita is the co-founder and CEO of URL Media, a network of Black and Brown community news outlets that share content and revenue. She is also co-founder and publisher of Epicenter-NYC.

Elizabeth Green is the founder and CEO of Civic News Company which publishes Chalkbeat and Votebeat. She also co-founded the American Journalism Project.
