The Cold War Rollercoaster of Polywater - From Fear to Failure | Descent Down the Conspiracy Iceberg

A lab in the 1900s located in the USSR appeared to have created a chemical identical to water, but without the constraints of freezing and boiling. It would be life-changing. All innocent enough until the climax of fear for life becoming completely destroyed caused Cold War drama. It didn't help that a book with an almost identical plot was written 40 years prior. But would it all have been for nothing or was it truly something to fear?
