The Importance of the Incarnation - Deep in History, Ep. 40
Marcus Grodi and Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson continue their study of Against Heresies by early Church father St. Irenaeus of Lyons. In this episode, they look at the difficulties that St. Irenaeus faced in regard to teaching the Gospel in an era plagued with heresies and confusion about the person of Jesus Christ.
St. Irenaeus says that we had to see and hear Jesus in order to know Him more perfectly and therefore have more perfect communion with God. His perfect offering of Himself was the only thing that could save us. And the incarnate Jesus shows us the Father in ways that we were never able to conceive of before.
