We talk about design and art.
An important part of his work is Zaventem Ateliers, a space where professionals, designers and artists work together. This project won the prestigious Henry van de Velde Company Gold Award 2024 and is a perfect example of how you create an environment where creativity and collaboration are central. Zaventem Ateliers currently houses 32 workshops , where makers develop their own unique designs, but also have the opportunity to collaborate on larger projects. I was one of the few artists who could work there for 7 years, until today. But what means Zaventem Ateliers for Lionel Jadot?
For me, and I think for many people in Zaventem Ateliers and everywhere around, Lionel Jadot is a great inspirator. And by that way also a mentor for young - or starting designer (like I was 7 years ago). The world of art was a completly unknown world for me. I love art, but didn’t really know how to work in that world. But he guide us - maybe unintentionally - into that world.
We talk about sustainability.
I believe his story is an inspiration for every craftsman who wants to distinguish himself through his creativity and respect for materials. Whether he builds furniture from stone or reuses waste to design a hotel, his work shows that authenticity and craftsmanship are indispensable in an age of mass production and rapid consumption. Sustainability is the common thread in his work.
What about his opportunities, realizations and dreams?
Listen to this interesting man and get inspired for your dream!
