DawgmanRadio: Anything that could have gone wrong did in UW's 24-7 loss to Michigan
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds in Ann Arbor and Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund in Seattle - caught up postgame after Washington's 24-7 loss to Michigan, a game where anything that could have gone wrong for the Huskies did. And then when it seemed to go right, the nature of the brutal battle turned those tiny wins into Pyrrhic victories due to injuries. Three offensive players - starting left tackle Maximus McCree, starting tight end Quentin Moore, and backup tight end Kade Eldridge - all went down with first half injuries and Washington Head Coach Jedd Fisch said postgame that the prognosis for all three in terms of coming back to play soon wasn't good. In fact, McCree is now out for the year with a foot injury. The guys talked about how the injuries impacted a game that already had major injury concerns for both teams, how Michigan was able to pull the card UW used last year against the Wolverines by using second-half turnovers to go ahead and stay ahead on the scoreboard, the massive discrepancy in time of possession - especially in the fourth quarter - and more. They talked about the battle between Demond Williams and Bryce Underwood, how the battle in the trenches ultimately impacted the game for both young quarterbacks, and also Fisch taking responsibility for not getting his team prepared to finish the game the way they needed to. Washington has figured out a way to beat the teams they should. But what about the teams they could beat? That also is something the guys talked about in their final thoughts as the Huskies head back to Seattle licking their wounds and searching for answers as another tough opponent - Illinois - is set to travel to the Emerald City off a bye week. Oh, and Kim has a couple passes for Sunday's hoops exhibition game versus UNLV, so if you're interested send him an email: kimg@dawgman.com  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
