Dr. Nyembwe is a Nurse Scientist and Freelance Health Communications Writer with a passion for improving health equity and empowering communities through accessible health information. With a background in cardiovascular care and public health, Dr. Nyembwe has dedicated her career to addressing health disparities, particularly as they relate to heart disease in minority populations. After transitioning from bedside nursing, she realized she missed providing patient education, inspiring her to found her freelance health communications business, Authored by AJP. Through this venture, she collaborates with organizations that create health content for consumers, translating complex medical concepts into clear, engaging language. Her work aims to educate communities, inspire behavioral change, and foster self-advocacy. Dr. Nyembwe earned her initial nursing degree from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science in 2017, followed by a PhD in Nursing from the University of California, Irvine in 2022. She also holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies.
