In honor of Black History Month, this week we welcome licensed therapist, writer and mental health advocate Katrina Leggins to talk about mental health awareness in African American culture and families. Katrina talks about what some of the biggest misconceptions are in black families about mental health, the positive changes that have come about post Covid and what we can expect in the future. She also shares some advice for young African Americans that might be struggling with mental health issues and what we all can do, regardless of race or ethnicity, to make a difference.
