Persevering in Faith
Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-2 (The Message)
Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in.
In today's devotional, let's reflect on the importance of perseverance in our faith journey. Surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, we are encouraged to run the race set before us with determination and focus. We must let go of anything that hinders our progress, whether it be sin or unnecessary distractions.
As we face challenges and obstacles, let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith. By following His example and relying on His strength, we can persevere in faith and run the race with confidence and endurance.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us, demonstrating faith and perseverance. Help us to run the race set before us with determination and focus, stripping away anything that hinders our progress. May we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, relying on His strength and guidance as we persevere in our faith journey. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
