Embracing Forgiveness
Scripture: Colossians 3:12-13 (The Message)
So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you.
In today's devotional, let's consider the power of forgiveness. As followers of Christ, we have been forgiven by God, and we are called to extend that same forgiveness to others. Holding onto resentment and bitterness only hinders our spiritual growth and our relationships with others.
As we interact with those around us, let's remember to practice forgiveness, just as Christ forgave us. By choosing to let go of offenses and forgiving others, we can foster an environment of love, healing, and unity.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for your forgiveness and grace. Help us to embrace forgiveness in our own lives and to extend it to others. May we be quick to forgive offenses and strive to build loving, healthy relationships with those around us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
