Building on a Firm Foundation
Scripture: Matthew 7:24-25 (The Message)
"These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock."
In today's devotional, let's focus on the importance of building our lives on a firm foundation. Jesus emphasizes that His teachings are not just optional additions to our lives, but rather the very foundation upon which we should build. When we live our lives according to His words, we establish ourselves on a solid, unshakable foundation.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for providing us with the solid foundation of Jesus' teachings. Help us to build our lives upon His words, knowing that they will give us the strength and stability we need to face the challenges and uncertainties of life. May we be like the wise builder, establishing our lives on the rock of Christ's teachings. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
