Working with the moon's energy cycle to cycle is simpler and more practical than you may think. After living this practice for several years, I'm finally ready to share it with you.
In this episode, I lay out exactly how I use the New Moon as a marker of time and how it propels me forward month by month. It's not empty words, it's intention setting that when done correctly evolves over time to land you exactly at the lesson you needed. When combined with journaling, this practice will take you far in life. If you're someone who values personal and spiritual growth, you need to listen to this episode and learn how to tune in to ancient moon wisdom!

In this episode, I sat down for a conversation with a member of my community who came off of the birth control pill and dove (cautiously) into the world of fertility awareness.
Carly was having multiple health issues, and she knew the pill wasn't serving her anymore so she made the bold decision to learn how to track her cycle with the Sensiplan method. What started with structured learning turned into a journey of health and mindset growth that shifted things in her relationship and in her relationship to herself. Carly opens up and shares introspectively on where she is today as we investigate what really happened during this process to give her more mental clarity and wellbeing. If you're not convinced to start tracking your cycle by the end of this episode, I'll be shocked!

Hello, we're back! Just in time for the astrological new year. The themes of this episode have been coming up strong for me in the last few months. Here's what you can expect to hear about in this episode...
I hope you enjoy hearing from me and if so, I'd love to hear from you at hello@thehormonoscope.com
Cycles of Metamorphosis is back. this episode is a seasonal one meant to help ground you in to the season of winter or death, and rebirth. it's also about making the most of the holiday seasons.
bullet points of the episode, in order from start to finish:
i open with a bit about this episode's inspiration
-timeline check: embracing fall/winter & its seasonal shifts in our day to day
-one big theme ~i'm seeing a lot of people experience a personal excavation of the old, could this be tied to the pluto in aquarius shift i touch on more below?
-habits i'm loving: a shout out to a breathwork guide and a metaphor that compares oxygen and money to look at what the breath can teach us about abundance mindset
-back to the pluto in aquarius astrology you may have heard about; pluto is the planet of death and rebirth so this "season" is truly emphasized. my big picture speculation about what it could mean for our crumbling systems. we know people don't love the system, but what if we could "fight the power" without violence?
-a little bit on Christ mΓ‘s !!! christmas magic (santa!!!) and why i still believed in him even when my parents told me he wasn't real
(parents doing the santa thing, don't miss this part )
~balance in the health journey on the topic of the circadian rhythm; how much do we let ourselves "slide" in the name of living life?
-being super present in this busy season - i walk through a visualization practice i'm using to do this
-some light coaching around {your triggering uncle}
-my sincere message to all those dealing with grief right now (iloveyou)
i want to know what you are letting go of this season. leave a comment - what habits are you shifting, and where are you making space?

happy winter solstice.
Most of us have had the experience of growing up in the dark when it comes to how our bodies work, and specifically, how pregnancy works. My guest in this episode, Cecilie, is a certified fertility awareness method teacher and cycle coach who is passionate about helping women learn to manage their fertility naturally. However, to do this, we must first acknowledge the deep fear and shame that can come with our menstrual cycles.
Cecilie and I both share parts of the process that we experienced on our way to becoming more aware of our monthly cycles. We cover what birth control meant to us at first, why we decided to come off of it, and what it took to get to the place where we FINALLY felt comfortable trusting the signs and signals we were seeing.
We then get into talking about the real life of using FAM - Fertility Awareness Method, and considerations we made before trying it. This is where we get into really deep beautiful conversation around our cycles, and unpacking some of the fear mindset.
Cecilie offers a 12 week program called Cycle Alchemy, and regularly shares about menstrual blood, cervical mucus, natural contraception, freebirth and cyclical living on her Instagram. We hope you enjoy this conversation. There will be a part 2 around empowered birth, so leave any questions in the box on this page, or reach out to me at @hormonoscope on Instagram.

Before I committed to tracking my cycle and acquiring more body literacy, I had an entire career as a small business owner. Looking back, I can see how NOT paying attention to my body was a systemic way of operating - and it impacted me in life, and business.
I reflect today on what I no longer do since learning to tune in with my natural hormonal cycle, and make connections to how my past experiences could have been different IF I had had the opportunity to know myself on a deeper level.
At the end, I offer you actionable tips for how to make cycle tracking your own - even if you only have 5 minutes per day.

There is no use in denying how uncomfortable it is for so many of us to slow down. Often, we don't even realize we are doing it - distracting ourselves from feeling what we feel. In this episode, we discuss:
-Navigating chronic fight or flight mode, how we get into it, and how we get out of it.
-Why ignoring our menstrual cycle is a symptom of the larger cultural issue, and some common ways we "push past" our body's natural energy state
-Why rest is uncomfortable, and how birth control may have contributed to that for you
-Mineral health, stress resilience, and stop striving on your healing journey!
At the end, I give you an actionable exercise you can try today to start leaning into the discomfort of slowing down.
As always, I'd love your feedback or questions. hello@thehormonoscope.com

This episode is an invitation to think about how chasing perfection keeps us stuck in a state of analysis paralysis, especially when it comes to being on our health journey and wanting to feel better in our bodies and minds. We are constantly inundated with messages about what we 'should' do - and to find out what's actually right for us, we need to be in the driver's seat listening to our internal guidance. I share the first step to getting in touch with that in this episode, and leave you with an action step you can take today.
Being cyclical is like riding a roller coaster - really high highs, and low lows, every. single. month.
It can be difficult and disorienting to navigate these shifts, especially as we do our best to exist in a linear world with little space for different ways of being.
In this episode, I discuss:
-How it is SUCH a stark difference between our 'full' and 'new' moon cycle halves
-How challenging it can be to be expected to show up the same way from week to week as a cyclical being
-Comparison of the same routine on a different day in my Menstrual phase vs. my Follicular phase, and the way it shifted my emotions and behaviors.
-Where to start with finding acceptance of our cyclical selves, talking to those we trust and sharing our experiences.
-Hope, because things are changing in the world, and we are in the process of reimagining work-life balance.
-Pointing out that what we really want is acceptance for who we are, for our different ways of being. Appealing to those who aren't cyclical to bring in awareness of this reality.

What now indeed! In this episode, we walk through changes you can expect to see after coming off of hormonal birth control. We discuss:
-What it's like to have a cycle again, and why it's a powerful tool
-Relationship and mood changes you might see coming off the pill
-Some common hormonal imbalance symptoms to look out for, and when you might see those start to surface.
-Considerations for how to start working with your cycle, and learning the language your body is speaking.
If you found this episode valuable - share it with a friend, and rate the show. Rating the show helps us reach more menstruators going through these hormonal shifts.
I've shared deeper in to my own experience with being a teen on HBC and how that impacted my mental health on Substack. You can subscribe for free to those updates.
Studies referenced:
Women less/more attracted to male partners based on attractiveness, after coming off HBC.
'Masculinizing' effects seen from the synthetic progestins in HBC.
Luteal Phase aka the PMS phase. "If I could just make this time of my cycle go away, that'd be great." I'm here to offer the perspective that even this time of challenges offers us many gifts, we simply need to be open to receiving them.
Listen in as we discuss what happens in the Luteal Phase, and why the ups and downs of the menstrual / ovarian cycle are so pivotal.
Are you new to cycling? Take heart, dear one! There are many beautiful gifts to come for you. I hope these episodes are supportive to you as you familiarize yourself with your own hormonal highs and lows. Visit The Hormonoscope's web portal for more information and personalized support.

Why is our 'inner summer' oh, so fleeting? Contrary to popular belief, pregnancy is only possible for 3-7 days out of the month, which also happens to be when your body gets motivated to make a baby. I cover what we can expect to feel in our ovulation phase, as well as the timing of what is happening hormonally.
Around the 28 minute mark, I get in to some discussion about the viral meme, males vs. females, and real life experience with reproductive...uh, urges.

Follicular Phase comes after Menstrual. It's named for the follicles of your ovaries as they begin to prepare to swell and release an egg. It's generally a time of renewed optimism and energy. In this episode, I talk about what Follicular time feels like to me and how you can start to identify what it's like to transition into it.
Around the 6 min. mark I discuss how to use Follicular Phase to level up
Around the 10 min. mark I talk about having a cycle vs. not
Around the 14 min. mark I discuss food
Around the 17 min. mark I cover self-care rituals
Around the 19 min. mark I talk about castor oil packs
Around the 21 min. mark I cover journaling
Around the 23 min. mark I share about Hormonoscope
Menstrual Phase is a time of deeper intuition and spiritual insight. Are you taking advantage of this gift, or missing it completely? This is part 1 of a 4 part deeper dive into the four phases.
In this episode, I walk us through the benefits of menstruation, what is happening hormonally, your period as your fifth vital sign, and some lifestyle tips to help you have a better bleed.

Cycles are a part of our daily lives, whether we recognize it or not. If we struggle to see how what we're facing plays in to the larger whole of the collective and our purpose, we're going to feel lost, and depressed. When we begin to re-orient to the earth's cycles, different seasons of life, and the cycles of our body, we create greater purpose and meaning in our lives.
In this 'on the go' unscripted episode, I talk about three major points of disconnect that I see happening in American culture, and share ways that we can start to take our energy (our power) back. Come journey in the woods with me as we explore this topic together.
**The audio gets a little shaky at the end, so you may need to adjust your volume.

Have you ever really thought about a Menstrual Cycle in its entirety? When I was younger, I thought a period was just that. A period. It wasn't until I was introduced to the other 3 phases of my cycle that I realized what a powerful thing it could actually be. Join me for an overview on the four phases, as I share about ways to track your cycle as you move through hormonal high's and lows. I also cover the gifts of cycle tracking. I go over exactly HOW tracking your cycle contributes to your overall health. My hope is that this episode motivates you to start tracking your cycle more in depth if you aren't already.

Welcome to Cycle of Metamorphosis.
In this introductory episode, I share what cyclical living is and why I believe it is a vital piece of one's journey to self-love, growth, and inner strength. Unfortunately, there are no classes or instruction on "Cycles 101" when we're trying to navigate having a monthly period. The pattern we see repeated time and time again is seeing young girls go from puberty and irregular cycles into birth control with little to no information about their bodies, or about the effects of that medication. My story is not wildly unique, I know that many of my fellow menstruators are experiencing or have experienced something similar. In this episode, I dive in to what cyclical living can offer you, and hopefully validate your own feelings of curiosity on what we never learn about our bodies. By learning to tune in with our own cycles, we also learn to tune in with the larger cycles of life that we participate in externally. My wish is for you to unlock a side of life that you never previously thought possible. Welcome.
