Welcome to the Cutting Edge Health Podcast. I‘m Jane Rogers. My plan in starting this podcast is to create a community empowered to prevent Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline. Yes, the latest research shows it can be prevented when caught early and we’ll talk with the medical experts who can help you do that. This is personal. My mother is in memory care. My father passed with AZ. I started experiencing memory issues, visible to those close to me, six years ago in my mid-50’s. With the right interventions I’m thriving today. It helps to think of preventing a neurodegenerative disease in baseball terms. Most interventions are base hits. They’re pretty small changes in your lifestyle, but eventually one by one they all add up to a big win. I want you or a loved one to have this big win for your brain! The key to making a difference in your brain health is keeping at it and asking the right questions. Upcoming episodes will cover: tackling pre-diabetes, getting inflammation down, ramping up deep sleep and ridding yourself of toxic metals in your brain like mercury and aluminum. Together we can learn to change the trajectory of our brain health and our lives!

Dr. Paul Savage (Part 2) - What Toxins Are the Worst and How to Combat Them
Transcript with time code:  https://cuttingedgehealth.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Transcript-Dr-Paul-Savage-Part-2-What-toxins-are-the-worst-and-how-to-combat-them.docx-Google-Docs.pdf   In this episode of the Cutting Edge Health Preventing Cognitive Decline Podcast, host Jane Rogers welcomes back Dr. Paul Savage for part two of their discussion on the critical role toxins play in cognitive health and overall well-being. Dr. Savage explains how the increasing prevalence of environmental toxins—from pesticides to heavy metals—has created unprecedented health challenges, driving chronic inflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.   The conversation delves into plasma apheresis, a cutting-edge detoxification process that removes toxins directly from the bloodstream. Dr. Savage shares compelling anecdotes, including a case where detoxification significantly improved a patient's health and even supported a successful pregnancy. He emphasizes the importance of toxin avoidance, advocating for actionable steps such as high-quality water filters, toxin-free cosmetics, and dietary adjustments.   The discussion also highlights the limitations of traditional detox methods like saunas and chelation, which are only partially effective, and how plasma apheresis offers a more comprehensive solution. For those concerned about cognitive decline, Dr. Savage underscores the connection between toxins, inflammation, and brain health, pointing to his clinic's innovative protocols that have shown measurable improvements in patients' cognitive function.   This thought-provoking episode encourages listeners to take proactive steps toward detoxification and health restoration.   ********   At 37 years old, Dr. Paul Savage was a successful ER/trauma physician. But he was  unhealthy, weighed 270 pounds, smoked cigarettes, was tired, anxious, and unwell, and  had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, and stress.   Rejecting the conventional approach of more medications, his curiosity and  determination led him to explore various treatments and lifestyle changes—and  transform his life and career through precision medicine.    Twenty-five years later, he’s an advocate for combining traditional and integrative  medicine, focusing on an evidence-based approach that treats patients as partners. Dr.  Savage embraces a continuous pursuit of knowledge and integration of the latest  medical advancements into his practice, with several board certifications, including  certifications from the Stem Cell Fellowship, Integrative Metabolic Medicine, and the  American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Not to mention he built over 50 clinics  across the United States and literally wrote the code for the industry standard software  that has helped millions of patients.    Dr. Savage is now the founder and CEO of Chicago based MDLifespan.  He has more MDLifespan clinics set to open soon around the US. His latest endeavor of the  patented PlasmaXchangeTM protocol is the culmination of years of expertise — it's  poised to be the defining moment of his career, a transformative movement that will  reshape the future of medicine as we know it.   *****   Cutting Edge Health podcast website: https://cuttingedgehealth.com/   Cutting Edge Health Social and YouTube:YouTube channel: youtube.com/@cuttingedgehealthpodcast Instagram - https://instagram.com/cuttingedgehealthpodcastFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/Cutting-Edge-Health-Podcast-with-Jane-Rogers-101036902255756   Please note that the information provided in this show is not medical advice, nor should it be taken or applied as a replacement for medical advice.
