Andre Shinyashiki: The Journey to Becoming a Pro Athlete
Welcome to today’s episode with Andre Shinyashiki. Andre is a professional major league soccer player with the Colorado Rapids. He just turned 23 last week and was the 2019 MLS rookie of the year in his debut professional season, which is quite the feat.
It was really cool to have Andre on the show because I’ve known him since we were kids. Andre is Brazilian, and he used to train with my team in San Diego when we were probably about 12 years old. Here’s the thing - Andre was never the best player. He was good, but he never struck me as being PRO good. That’s what’s so cool about his path to becoming not only a pro, but being the #5 overall pick in the MLS draft, breaking records in the process & making a name for himself. He was not the best, and is a perfect example of hard work and not giving up on your dreams. Without further ado, I’m excited for you to get a behind the scenes look into the mindset and journey of Colorado Rapids rising star, Andre Shinyashiki.
