When Tim Cook was in India back in 2016, he said that Apple was in the country for a “thousand years.” With iPhone sales in India on a downward trajectory, the joke doing the rounds is that Apple might actually need that kind of time to make a significant dent in the world’s second-biggest phone market for feature phones and smartphones. Unfortunately for Apple, any good joke often contains a grain of truth. It's been over a decade since Apple began selling iPhones in India, but the company is still struggling to make it’s place in the world's second-largest smartphone market. today apple controls only fraction of Indian smartphone market. Chinese company one plus is taking over the Indian premium smart phone segment with its best-in-class smartphones but Apple is simply not able to compete.   There are couple of reasons why apple is losing Indian smartphone battle.
