Here’s the Who, What, Where, Why, and How of what this Podcast will cover!

WHO is this Podcast about?

I am joined by Jonathan Younie, Chief Technology Officer & Chief Information Security Officer at Ramsey Quantitative Systems (RQSI). Jonathan more commonly goes by his last name, “Younie”.

WHAT are we talking about?

Jon walks us through what the early years of his career looked like, how he got started, and who some of his biggest influencers were. Additionally, he discusses the cybersecurity industry and how we can work on the educational foundation necessary to build good cyber-hygiene.

WHERE can you find Jonathan Younie?

Jonathan’s LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathanyounie

Donate to the Innocent Lives Foundation - https://www.innocentlivesfoundation.org/donate/

Volunteer in the Innocent Lives Foundation -  https://www.innocentlivesfoundation.org

WHY are they doing it?

Jon’s intense curiosity has led him down a path of lifelong learning and continued growth. His ability to connect with others, solve problems, and accomplish difficult goals has shaped him into who he is today. He shares the old cliche, “If you could find a job doing something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Jonathan also uses his talent for good, as a volunteer at the Innocent Lives Foundation. The primary mission of ILF is to leverage open source intelligence (OSINT) to hunt predators that pose a risk to the children in our communities. This effort is strictly volunteer-based and volunteers do not engage with predators, but operate as a Predator Identification-as-a-Service and is truly a fantastic avenue for helping take predators off the streets.

HOW did they start their journey?

We start off at the very beginning, when at 11-years-old, Jon broke the brand new family computer. From this point forward, Jon found his passion for technology. After school, he would work at his web development job until the early hours of the morning. In his formative years, Jon was influenced by like-minded groups of individuals that helped contribute to his ever-growing love for tech. This journey has had some valuable lessons along the way, all of which Jon shares with us in this episode.
