E.9 "Plastic Free July" w/Kendra Nelson

In this week's episode, I spoke with Kendra Nelson about swimming with sharks, single use plastics and what to do with them, as well as how to help aspiring new marine biologist students with their expectations of "what it means to be a marine biologist". Kendra has spent a good deal of time in all of these areas. As we tip our hats to the month of "Plastic Free July", listen to this episode and try to take away a better understanding of what single use plastics truly do to the world we live in.

Some resources regarding some stuff we talked about for your convenience:

Read the book, "Is It Really Green?" A book that talks about eco-impacts

A website for aspiring marine biologists: marinebio.org to help you navigate your journey about what marine biology really looks like.

Follow Kendra on Instagram @intertidalkendy

And, she also has a podcast called "Intertidal Talks" - here's a link to Spotify, but you kind her podcast anywhere podcasts are found!
