
Marbella Figueroa is an afro descendant who has experienced racism and fat phobia. She studied Arts and Design in UNAM university. She was born in Mexico City, where she currently lives. Marbella has expressed herself through art and is trying to sublimate her condition of being black in a big body.
Meanwhile she is spreading awareness in Mexican society, aiming to decolonize the minds of the people who see white race and slim bodies as better than don't look like that. Marbella also writes for Malvestida, a digital magazine and have her own project called @afrochingonas, she also have her own podcast available in Spotify.
