05 Alamira Reem Al Hashimi, PhD, Planning Abu Dhabi / Abu Dhabi
In this episode I speak with urban planner Alamira Reem Al Hashimi, Ph.D, who wrote the urban history of Abu Dhabi, coming to the conclusion that while much still needs to be done, Abu Dhabi’s progress towards becoming a global and sustainable city provides lessons for other cities. We also had a reflection about modern heritage preservation in the UAE. Alamira Reem is the first Emirati woman to be awarded a PhD in planning.
