In Fox Lake, Illinois, Joe Glinieqicz, otherwise known as G.I. Joe around town, was known as a local hero. A lieutenant at the Fox Lake Police Department with a military history consisting of awards and honors.

But what lay behind his buzz cut, All-American exterior was a growing sense of shame and fear fueled by a history of alcohol, sex, and embezzlement. When cracks in his façade begin to form, Gliniewicz is forced to face his truth, but fear stands in the way.
