Vargab was Shopify's 2nd international hire and their founding member in India. For 3 years, he was the only employee (working remotely) creating the 0 to 1 for Shopify India, building its foundations and strengthening its Partner ecosystem. In the last decade, he has worked for Google, Singapore Telecommunications, Dell and Martjack (acquired by Capillary). Vargab's expertise lies in e-commerce, channel partnerships, tech ecosystems, international expansion and digital transformation of complex businesses.
Vargab has helped Shopify's ecosystem grow in multiple emerging markets (APAC, EMEA and LATAM) sitting out of his tiny apartment. He owes his intrapreneurial success to the hundreds of startups who have built multi-million dollar businesses on Shopify with the help of his advisory. Vargab gains his knowledge through people, experiences, books and online content. His super power is his energy which is hard to ignore. Vargab has not done an MBA, but is a visiting faculty in leading B-schools.
