Sadly, last month I lost my brother to suicide. Typically when this happens we don’t talk about it - but this stigma is exactly what breeds these situations. Because of this, I am personally committed to sharing what I have learned through navigating this experience and in this episode I provide practical solutions to prevent death by suicide, and care for those affected by it using my expertise in mental health.
This is part 2 of a 2 part series.
In this second episode, you’ll learn:
1) Important topics to educate yourself upon & resources you can use to assist you in creating safe, supportive & positive spaces for your loved ones, your colleagues and practices (including how to support someone with an addiction or who might be thinking of suicide);
2) 6 things you need to start implementing to support others with their mental health (some of these suggestions will be the opposite of what you think you should do - it’s important to understand what these are);
3) How to support the men in your life with their mental health & important considerations for men’s mental health (including why many romantic partners become the sole person their male partner confides in and why this often doesn’t provide adequate support for either person in the relationship - though it’s much better than saying nothing at all);
4) How to support your own mental health as a spaceholder, coach, therapist, facilitator, consultant or other professional working in the mental health, personal development and wellbeing industry; and
5) How to best support someone affected by suicide and be supported if you lose someone to suicide.
This episode has been recorded to raise awareness on suicide, and is highly recommended for all, particularly those of you who work in the coaching, mental health, healing, helping, personal development and therapy industry.

CLB 285: Starting a New Relationship in 2025 & The First 2 Years
How to start a brand new relationship with a romantic partner and set your relationship up to last for the long term? How to reduce relationship fear and anxiety when you commit to a new relationship? Why do so many people find it challenging to be in relationships for more than 2 years??? It's time to answer these burning questions in today's episode!
Today, I'm addressing the 6th and final phase of the romantic relationship cycle which is all about starting a new relationship and those first 2 years of a new relationship (which is what I define as a "short term relationship" i.e. any relationship that is in the first 2 years).
THIS EPISODE is VITAL for those of you who want to understand how to build a thriving, committed long term relationship or marriage and will set you up for success for not only building a relationship with someone special but also for dating with intention.
You'll learn:
* How to optimise the dating process and earlier phases of the relationship cycle to be ALL IN when you start a new relationship
* How to lessen the load & challenges most couples experience in the first 2 years of their romantic relationship
* Why the first 2 years should NOT be about “testing” compatibility
* How approaching dating in a rush leads to problems during the first 2 years and to relationships ending in the first 2 years
* Approaching the key milestones that happen in the first 2 years: like moving in together
* How to stop wasting your time getting into relationships with people who are not compatible
* The honeymoon period and how we create an unsustainable culture that ultimately leads to settling or separation
* What to focus on in the first 2 years of your relationship and the skills needed
* Why you should be ALL IN in a new relationship to set it up for success and what needs to happen before commitment to do and be this
* Common new relationship fear and anxieties and what to do about them (including insecure attachment styles like anxious attachment, avoidant attachment and disorganised attachment) and how not to make them worse
Today's episode is for you if you're dating right now, thinking about dating in the future, starting a new relationship or in the first 2 years of your relationship. Slow down, get intention, approach it consciously and set your romantic partnership (now or in the future) up to THRIVE.
Enjoy!
