God loves it when His children make an effort to please Him. However, it takes ‘killing the flesh’ to make this effort. Although the flesh tries to overpower our souls and Godly desires so that we are forced to operate in our carnal nature, the Word of God is mighty and more powerful; able to overcome any ungodly desire.
