Trixie Bell rushes home from the beauty salon after receiving a call from a horrified neighbor telling her she just heard gunshots coming from her house and that she has called the police. When she arrives home, the police are wheeling out her deceased husband, Alex. Police state that it looks like a botched burglary that turned into murder. A few hours later, Buddy, a gardener, is found dead, an apparent suicide. Oddly, he was shot with the same gun as Trixie's husband.
