What to use when cast iron cookware is too heavy

I talk to people every day about cookware. Many of our aging population are looking for lightweight alternatives to cast iron. Wha should they choose? I say, stainless.  Here are some videos that can help you choose:

Is raising kids vegetarian safe and will they grow up small?

I was raised as a vegetarian in the 80s and these same questions came up all the time:  Where do you get protein? Where do you get iron? Are you not hungry?  We have come a long way since then and a vegetarian or even a plant-based family is now considered 'normal' but this does not mean that these questions no longer come up.

We're raising our kids plant-based and do our best to feed them the most nutritionally complete diet we can. When the University of Toronto released a study on the long-term effects of feeding kids vegetarian/plant-based I was intrigued as I do my best but am I missing something?  Here is the report: https://www.utoronto.ca/news/kids-vegetarian-diets-record-similar-growth-nutrition-measures-those-who-eat-meat-study

The report was quite clear but I did have some lingering questions. Fortunately, I was able to talk to someone with a unique perspective on the study.  I sat down with Dr. Sanjiv Gandhi, who is the Chief of Pediatric Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, BC Children’s Hospital. He works with a team of health professionals to care for the long-term health of children who need heart surgery. He has decades of first-hand experience witnessing the effects of a westernized diet on kids' coronary health.

I was excited to talk with him about the study and get his take on raising healthy vegetarian kids.

The Proof That Seed Oils Are Healthy

A few weeks ago there was a debate on the cardiovascular health outcomes of eating seed oil, which contains high levels of linoleic acid.   The debate was 3.75 hours long and exhaustive but I was left with questions as I was still not clear.  I invited one of the participants into my kitchen to discuss the debate and the science that he used to support his argument that seed oils are actually health positive.  Please meet Dr. Matthew Nagra  Here are the links that were referenced:

How to choose coffee beans for any coffee brewing process part 1

We sell many different types of coffee makers and so we get asked all the time - what beans should I buy?  This week I go down the rabbit hole with my friend, Ben Cram. Ben is a national-level coffee judge, roaster, competitive barista, and the owner of Fernwood Coffee, so he knows coffee.  In this detailed video, we go into detail about how beans come from the farm and are roasted into the beans you buy. I'm looking for the best beans or best process for each brewing method.
